Innovative Renewable Energy Facility Coming to WINSC Landfill

WIN Partners with Vision RNG on Innovative Renewable Energy Facility in Seneca County

Friday, November 3, 2023

WIN Waste Innovations has announced a new project in Seneca County that will turn landfill gas into renewable natural gas, which can substitute for fossil-based natural gas in heating, transportation fuel, and other uses. WIN is partnering with Vision RNG on a new facility that will be operational by 2026, making WIN Waste Innovations of Seneca County one of the most technologically advanced and environmentally friendly landfills in the world. This facility, combined with a corresponding one that will be built at WIN’s Tunnel Hill Reclamation landfill in Perry County, will produce fuel equivalent to 12 million gallons of gasoline per year — enough to avoid more than 120,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions.
