A Commitment to the Community

Since acquiring the Seneca County landfill in 2019, WIN Waste Innovations has demonstrated its continued commitment to our community and the environment by maintaining a standard of excellence in landfill operations and giving back to the local community. Our operations continue to be in full compliance with the Clean Air Act and the landfill has established itself as a good neighbor and environmental steward by drastically reducing landfill emissions and building collaborative community partnerships. In 2025, we were inspected by the Ohio EPA 135 times and 62 times by the local SCGHD. We have received no Ohio EPA enforcement actions and remain in substantial compliance with all applicable regulations as determined by the Ohio EPA.

WIN Waste of Seneca County continues to operate with strict adherence to federal, state, and local regulations and permits while continually improving landfill operations and offsetting our environmental footprint. WIN Waste is also proud to be a major employer, economic driver, and community contributor in Seneca, Hancock, and Wood counties.

A Standard of Operational Excellence

Our landfill operates in compliance with all Ohio EPA regulations and environmental permit requirements.
Air quality around the landfill meets the Clean Air Act and National Ambient Air Quality Standards.
Landfill emissions are monitored through a rigorous daily process conducted with results delivered to the Ohio EPA and Seneca County General Health District (SCGHD) each month to ensure air quality standards are achieved and potential for odors is addressed proactively. That’s 730 individual air emission checks per year and 12 comprehensive reports! During the past year, SCGHD performed 62 inspections and the Ohio EPA conducted 135 inspections at WIN Waste of Seneca County. There were no Ohio EPA enforcement actions reported, confirming that the landfill remains in substantial compliance with all applicable regulations as determined by the Ohio EPA.
Our hydrogen sulfide (H2S) gas treatment system, which represented a more than $54M investment, has been fully operational since June 2023, safely removing sulfur from the landfill gas stream and converting it for use in agricultural applications.

Finally, we are extremely proud of our onsite Vision RNG facility for converting landfill gas into renewable natural gas. The offset provided by this system is the equivalent of 12 million gallons of gasoline and provides the carbon absorbing impact of planting 130,000 acres of forest, making WIN Waste of Seneca County one of the most technologically advanced and environmentally friendly landfills in the world.

WIN Waste provides approximately $5.8 million each year for local government, health services, environmental protection and solid waste services.

WIN Waste Innovations of Seneca County employs more than 70 residents who live in this community and invests more than $6 million annually in direct employee payroll.

WIN Waste also supports our regional economy by investing approximately $5 million each year in local vendors.

WIN Waste Innovations of Seneca County’s Sustainable Gas Treatment System has been fully operational since June 2023, safely removing sulfur from the landfill gas stream and converting it for use in agricultural applications.

In 2026, WIN Waste will open a new facility that converts landfill gas into renewable energy, making WINSC one of the most technologically advanced and environmentally friendly landfills in the world.
